Here at the Ink N Quill (INQ), we pride ourselves on having dedicated professional writers who understand the trials and tribulations faced by writers! This means we know what it takes to go from first draft to finished projects and will support you in developing groundbreaking ideas.

Our courses are self-led, with content paced over twelve weeks (or longer in some cases). Once or twice, depending on the module, tutors will check in on students and their progress. We aim to support every student's needs and are always available through email.

Students will gain a unique perspective on theory and apply these applications to your creative practice through a series of creative writing tasks (or alternative assessment method - see 6 for more details). In every assessment you'll be asked to write, reflect and critically contextualise your work in a given framework. For example: disability theory, or poetry and novel craft mechanics. 

If the first attempt doesnt go to plan, that's okay. You will get targeted feedback and a chance to improve on your next submission. You get three tries. We will support you to the best of our ability to ensure you reach your full potential. You will still have an opportunity to follow our Submission guidelines and submit to our publication post-course, should you wish. 

Sometimes intersectional learners have additional challenges, such as chronic pain or other invisible disabilities, neurodiverse burnout, executive functioning challenges, or other such life events. Especially if these students are attending our programmes alongside alternative educational qualifications, we need to emphasise that we operate this policy to allow students to complete the course in another way. Students do not have to beg for it, and shall be applied automatically. Students can have a mixture of these, but the alternative assessment must be cleared with the staff member. This can be through:

a) Email communication instead of critique groups (with feedback provided on existing forms available here and shall use our existing Rules For Feedback) 

b) One-on-One feedback (as above, feedback shall be verbal and then recorded on already existing materials) 

c) arranging an alternative assessment method (i.e: an essay alongside a creative writing piece and a shorter statement).
