Like a good novel, this is where it all started.

And like a good story, we continue to get more detailed.

We are a team which focuses on the intersectional experience, and we come from a variety of backgrounds with one central mission: championing intersectional writers. With a variety of remote roles, we have so many ways for you to develop expertise. From social media to helping on the publishing team to admin assistants (we always need more of them!).

E. J. Kingdom (They/Them)

Founder. Podcast host. Teacher.

E.J. Kingdom founded InkNQuill to champion intersectional creative writers through education, community building, and social action to tell their own, authentic stories through their development as critically conscious writers. As a writer, educator, and advocate, they bridge the gap between creative expression and critical social engagement.

Kingdom holds a first-class degree in English and Creative Writing and a PGCE in Further Education, and will continue with an MA in English Studies at the University of Nottingham. Outside of academics, they are an active writer who writes across many forms – poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction. With a published novel and an upcoming poetry collection in the works. Previously, their writing has appeared in Honeyfire Literary magazine, The Paper Crane, and Writerous, exploring themes of identity, societal responsibility, and justice.

Scout Dragon (They/Them)

Editor-in-Chief

Scout Dragon (they/them) is a published writer and award-winning LGBT+ rights activist based in the North West of England. Their work has appeared in Gay Times and DIVA Magazine. Fully immersed in the local theatre industry, they direct, produce and create original works.

A dedicated advocate, theatre maker and public speaker, Dragon champions LGBT+ rights and promotes neuroqueer approaches to drama. Passionate about both theatre and film, they use their art to challenge social norms, destigmatise mental health and inspire change.

Originally from Germany, Dragon is multilingual with a particular interest in languages, especially forensic linguistics. They have been involved in theatre since their age was still in their single digits.

Elisha (They/She)

Social Media Manager

Wiith a queer centered creative practice, and a taste for the unusual, Elisha (they/she) is passionate about accessibility and equity within the Arts.
Featured in the exhibition ‘See Me As Me’, hosted at Attenborough Arts Centre, Elisha’s work explores themes of identity, memory and resilience in the face of an ever hostile world. Recently, their poem ‘Babel (a radio confession)’ was displayed in the ‘YoungArts4Us’ showcase at Edge Hill University, and their spoken word poem ‘Perception’ can be found here (timestamp 8:57-11:00).
Outside of Ink N Quill, they can be found running their book based Instagram, @elisha.is.reading. A member of The Mighty Creatives’ youth board, they advise on initiatives and champion creativity within marginalised communities.They contribute to Queer Midlands, adopting a multifaceted role which involves social media and technology. In their free time, they enjoy reading old indie magazines found in the dusty corners of the internet and listening to CDs on their battery operated CD player.

Jack Littlefair (They/He)

Admin Assistant

Jack Littlefair (They/He) is an aspiring legal professional, bid writer and social activist from the north of England. As a researcher and activist, Littlefair’s work is committed to social inclusion of minority groups in under-represented areas.

Littlefair holds qualifications from the Hull York Medical School in Medicine and will pursue further education in Law in September 2025 with the aim of becoming a charted legal executive. He has also written for publications such as Amnesty International’s magazine and OutSports, as well as holding an award from Just Like Us. Their background in medicine led to activism projects such as ‘HealingBeyondLabels’ in collaboration with Amnesty International (a project championing LGBTQ+ training for healthcare professionals) and work with under-represented groups in higher education.

Charley (They/Them)

Proofreader and Editorial Assistant

Charley is an incoming undergraduate at the University of Cambridge; they will be reading English at Girton College come October 2025. Their role at INQ is a proofreader and line editor for the press and magazine.
In their free time, they enjoy writing to creatively explore their interests and the world around them, as well as reading a variety of literature across cultures, genres and eras. They have a specific interest in the intersection of mental health with minority groups in literature and how it is perceived.
They also enjoy going on long woodland walks with their dog and enjoying the peace of nature around them. Their dog is named after their favourite childhood book: Heidi.
They love various creative mediums when it comes to writing: Graphic Novel, Novella’s, Classics, Epics, Theatre and Film. They have a particularly strong interest in films and regularly go to the cinema to enjoy the atmosphere of the various worlds that are brought to life on the silver screen.
