Here at Ink N Quill, we are passionate about empowering the voices of the marginalised communities that we serve. Of course, to do this, we ask you to respond to our calls for submissions, which are created to inspire critical engagement and give you a home for your work!
If you are reading this page, then we take it that you have already read the submission guidelines.
We recommend that you open those on a separate page and work through them systematically to make sure you have the best chances of success.
Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we caution that if you do not follow these guidelines, we won’t be able to consider your submission.

Haunted Places and Faces
Themed Issue
Calling all intersectional writers for a publication on your deepest and darkest desires. We want you to immerse us in the horror-filled worlds of your imagination. We want to publish your desires filed with blood, horrors, and spiky dreams.
Open for submissions from October 30th to November 30th, calling all intersectional writers – of fiction, non-fiction, and hybrid forms – poets, photographers, and artists for a publication of the gothic!
For this issue, we seek gothic literature and art. Step beyond street-bound ghosts and ghouls and lead us into daring realms—gothic-inspired spaces pulsing with isolation, fragile communities, and the echo of social commentary. Draw us into haunted houses with their looming architecture and creaking floors, decadent decay, and menacing ghosts, or characters bound to their blades, exploring worlds that are hauntingly close yet chillingly distant from our own.
At Ink N Quill magazine, we await the shadows of your imagination.
We can’t wait to be invited into your worlds.
Assorted Ink N Quills
Unthemed Issue (Winter)
Calling all intersectional writers for a publication for all of your odds and ends — pieces which have not found their rightful home quite yet, pieces which don’t fit an exact theme, or maybe defy categorisation altogether. We love those bold pieces of work which can’t be put into categories!
Maybe you have developed a piece that hasn't found a place to call home, or maybe you aren't interested in our themed issues (we understand that all writers have different strengths, so this issue is a chance for you to shine!). For this series of issues, we accept pieces on all themes, but are interested in ones that push the boundaries of form or theme by intersectional writers.
Open from November 1st until January 31st, Assorted Ink N Quills is the perfect home for all of your ideas that aren’t within the confines of a radical space, which champions the diverse, genre-bending forms of printed visual expression.
We are calling upon writers of fiction, non-fiction, and hybrid forms, poets, photographers, and artists for a publication which celebrates all different pieces of work from all different intersectional writers to bring themselves forward. Maybe you want to write a short story, send us your photography or art of an experience, or an explorative narrative essay on your own experiences. Something which combines any of these would be more than welcome!

We ask that, if you use images, they have image descriptors or IDs to aid accessibility
Here at InkNQuill, we want to know about all of the work you have been producing and everything that hasn’t found its rightful home, and we will do our best to help give it the home it deserves.
