Intersectional

Lines

Project

About the Project

InkNQuill was founded to amplify the voices of marginalised writers and individuals. As such, we strive to develop a network of publications with other small-presses, zines, literary magazines, and journals (called intersectional lines) for publications to join, and intersectional writers to submit to. This means the writers we serve will always have a place to call home with the network of publications.

Given our mission  – to develop intersectional creative writers who are critically aware and engaged within their practice – we acknowledge that we are only one institution and the power we hold comes from togetherness and community.

Therefore, we have thought of this project as a two-way benefit: intersectional creatives sign up for the commitment to supporting intersectional writers and creatives who need the support more than ever.

The commitment means publications shall:

  • Publish work by intersectional creative voices (i.e: short stories, zines, poetry)

  • Serve a marginalised and/or intersectional community of creatives (such as writers, artists, or interdisciplinary creatives)

  • Be committed to championing intersectional creative work

Effectively, it means that intersectional writers have a list of intersectional-friendly publications to submit to, which boosts their credibility within the world of contemporary creative writing

Please note

Each journal has its own processes, publication dates, and submission requirements, so please check the relevant publication information and submission guidelines for any publication you wish to submit to.

If you have any questions, please use the Contact Us form, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
