Writing Fantastical Fiction

Writing science fiction and fantasy can be challenging, but Eri will guide you through the process, being a Fantasy writer themselves. This one-hour session will help develop your practice of the genre and consider genre theory around the subject. There are many elements to consider: world-building, technology, magic systems, and the tropes of fantastical fiction.

If you enjoy this session, you may want to progress to the upcoming “Writing Speculative Fiction” and “Writing Societies” courses to develop your knowledge further. In this hour-long session, you will learn:

  • How to consider the elements of speculative fiction writing

  • How to use (and subvert) tropes of current speculative fiction to invent something new
